Join us on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at The Algoma Boat Club, 180 6th St., Algoma, for our Oktoberfest Party benefitting Save the Catwalk! It’s a free event with live polka music from the Greatest Hits Polka Band, sponsored by Lakeside Painting, German-style food for sale including brats, booyah, and pretzels, and plenty of Gemütlichkeit, that warm, cozy feeling of good company. There will also be a bucket raffle and a 50/50 raffle, so come ready to try your luck. Don your lederhosen, your dirndl, or just come as you are. We hope to see you there! Here is a detailed look at what’s in store.
Freebies and Keepsakes

Admission is free, and there are two reasons to come early and give generously.
A free cork coaster, on us. The first 100 guests through the door receive a complimentary cork coaster etched with the lighthouse and catwalk. Arrive early so you don’t miss out!
Your own engraved stein, with a free fill. Make a direct donation of $25 or more to Save the Catwalk at the Oktoberfest and you’ll receive an engraved Save the Catwalk beer stein with a free fill. Raise it all afternoon, then take it home as a keepsake of the campaign.
Bucket Raffle Prizes
We’ll be holding a bucket raffle at the Oktoberfest party! It features 25 beautiful prizes. Here’s a sampling of what you could win, and each of these includes a Longaberger basket, the well-known, handcrafted brand that collectors and basket lovers seek out. Bucket raffle tickets will be sold at the party, so come ready to try your luck!

Raffle Winners and Major Announcement
We’ll draw the winner of our Fall 2026 Raffle at the party! The grand prize is a stunning, custom-built 8-foot replica of the historic Algoma Pierhead Lighthouse, hand-crafted for outdoor display with a glowing beacon at the top to light up your yard at dusk. Five more handcrafted prizes follow: a leaded stained glass lighthouse and catwalk panel, a stainless steel fire ring, a windchime, a compass rose, and a catwalk wall hanging. See all of the raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will also be sold at the event.
Plus, a 50/50 raffle. Split the pot with Save the Catwalk!
And a major announcement about the campaign. We’re keeping it under wraps until the big day, so plan to be there so you don’t miss what we are sure will make you smile!

Special Bourbon Auction

Unbound Spirits’ limited release bourbon, The Maelstrom Saga Series 4: The Last Beacon, is a bottle with a story. Its label features our catwalk, the Algoma lighthouse, and U.S. Navy veteran and Algoma resident Jason Baltutis. The bottling also remembers Algoma Police Officer Ronald Leist, who lost his life on October 9, 1969, attempting to rescue a fisherman swept from the pier into Lake Michigan. Learn more on our Unbound Spirits page.
Bottle No. 1 will be presented to the family of Officer Leist, one of the local heroes The Last Beacon commemorates.
Bottle No. 2 will be auctioned at the party, along with two engraved Save the Catwalk whiskey glasses. Come ready to bid, because all auction proceeds go to the Save the Catwalk campaign.
Bake Sale by the Lakeshore Singers
As a community with deep artisan roots, we recognize the importance of the lighthouse and catwalk to our local artisans. We also recognize that the arts are what make our community special, so we have invited our friends from the Lakeshore Singers to join us and raise money for their trip to Portugal in 2027.
They will be selling homemade baked goods to satisfy your sweet tooth, and all proceeds from the sale of baked goods will support the choir’s trip.
